Phnom Penh has French, Chinese and Khmer influence on their architecture. This creates unique colors, styles and beautiful intricacies throughout the city. Unfortunately there are 5 problems with the architecture there which is why many building become run down and inhabitable. There are no preservation laws so many historical places become destroyed. The Khmer people don’t like things that are old because they believe they are haunted or they don’t know who used them in the past so they completely recreate.
