Eat, Drink and Be Thankful

This year I have a lot to be thankful for as this has been the best year of my life. I will have visited 4 continents, purchased a condo and been lucky enough to stand in one of my best friends weddings.  What I am most thankful for is the relationships that have been built over this year. I have met so many people who I know will be in my life forever.

In 2018 I have been lucky enough to travel all over the world and experience the cultures of so many different people.

North America (Minnesota. Michigan. South Carolina, Louisiana, Wisconsin, New York, Pennsylvania) South America (Chile, Peru) Asia (Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia) Australia (Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Sydney)

This year I was able to purchase my dream condo in the Loop.  It is everything that I want and now I am able to have friends over for dinner parties and have guests stay in a comfortable place.

I am thankful that I am healthy enough to climb Machu Picchu this year, have enough courage and lung capacity to scuba dive in Cambodia, Thailand, Australia and Cuba and have the ability to walk everywhere I want to go.

While some of my relationships have changed in the past year I am thankful for new relationships, the 100’s of friends I made on Remote Year all over the world and my family who I am closer with than ever.

This year I have tackled some bucket list items that I was always afraid to do; Scuba dive, public speak, travel alone to a foreign country.

Work Recognition

I have always worked extremely hard to excel at whatever I am doing.  This year it feels like I have received more recognition for my efforts.  In 2017 I was elected to the Board of Directors for Meeting Professionals International, won an award for Tomorrows Leader and was given the opportunity to work remotely for 4 months.

Volunteer Work

I believe that it is our responsibility to give back and I had the opportunity to give blood in Cambodia where they have a huge shortage, volunteer at a school in Cambodia, Paint a positive mural in Cambodia and volunteer at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand.

While I am extremely thankful for everything I was able to do this year and know I work really hard to be able to do it, I do know I am lucky to have had all the opportunities I have been given.
