Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam in the north, is known for its centuries-old architecture and a rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences. The weather is a bit chillier than Ho Chi Minh City and it feels a bit less chaotic but there is still vibrant energy in the air.
At its heart is the Old Quarter. There are many little temples, including Bach Ma, honoring a legendary horse, plus Đồng Xuân Market, selling household goods and street food.
Some of the highlights from my few days spent in Hanoi include places of worship, museums and restaurants. Below are my top pics for places to visit.
