Santiago is a sophisticated, chic, cosmopolitan city perfect for walking around and exploring. Take a walk around Bellavista and stop into a cute bar or café or take a casual hike up one of the many hills. The art scene is booming with evidence in restaurants, cuisine and street art.
I was only able to spend two days in Santiago and went to Vina Del Mar (Basically San Francisco) so I didn’t get to do as much as I would like but here are my suggestions of places to visit.
-
San Cristóbal Hill
-
Santa Lucía Hill
- Drive to Vino Del Mar and stop at the Casablanca vineyards on the way
- Drink Pisco Sours and make a stop at Number 9 Speakeasy. Tip: If they say you have to be a member just tell them you will pay to be a member. It is cheep and most likely they won’t charge you.
I wish I would have had time to check out the markets and spend much more time in Casablanca and Maipo wine regions. If I had another week or two I would have also made it to Patagonia as its high on my bucket list. There is so much to see and do. I would highly recommend adding Chile to your list of vacations.
